AnaPatricia Garcia, DVM, MS, PhD

AnaPatricia Garcia, DVM, PhD, graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá, Colombia. Dr. Garcia completed her graduate training and pathology residency at The University of Georgia.

Dr. García studies nonhuman primate animal models for infectious conditions, particularly those caused by opportunistic microorganisms. She is working toward the formation of a consortium to establish a centralized nonhuman primate pathology image database. Under Dr. García’s direction, the pathology department has created a digital database of nonhuman primate diseases, including classic diseases and animal model diseases, and facilitated monthly virtual pathological conferences among the eight National Primate Research Centers and other educational institutions.
