Steven Bosinger
Scientific Director
Steven is the director of the Genomics Core at the Emory National Primate Research Center and was one of the founding leaders of the team. Steve received his PhD in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of Western Ontario in 2007 where he studied the pathogenic events in early HIV and SIV infection. He then completed his postdoctoral work at the University of Pennsylvania with Prof. Guido Silvestri studying how African monkey species, such as the Sooty Mangabey, avoid AIDS despite lifelong SIV infection. He was awarded a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Fellowship and in 2008 received one of five Young Investigator Awards from the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise.
Michelle Lee
Core Director
Michelle received her Ph.D in Molecular Virology from the University of Melbourne in 2018 while based at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity. Using a novel target enrichment and RNA-Seq workflow, she studied the nature of HIV-1-sequence-containing RNAs generated through aberrant splicing in cells latently infected with the virus.
Adam Ericsen
Director of Colony Genetics & Informatics
Adam received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the field of Pathology and is the Director of Colony Genetics & Informatics at the EPC.
Gregory Tharp
Director of Bioinformatics
Greg has a Master of Mechanical Engineering and has been with the Genomics Core since its founding in 2011.
Emma Shippee
Technical Director
Emma has a Master of Science majoring in Biology from Georgia State University and joined the Genomics Core team in January 2024.
Elizabeth Beagle
Senior Research Specialist
Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Armstrong State University and joined the Genomics Core team in October 2018.
Julia Boll
Research Specialist
Julia has a Bachelor of Science from The University of Georgia where she studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She joined the Genomics Core team in June 2022.
Micah Fletcher
Bioinformatics Analyst
Micah received his PhD from Princeton University in the field of Quantitative and Computational Biology. He joined the Genomics Core team in February 2023.
Derrik Gratz
Bioinformatics Analyst
Derrik has a Master of Bioinformatics from The University of Oregon and joined the Genomics Core team in April 2022.
Tristan Horton
Lead Research Specialist
Tristan has a Bachelor of Science from The University of Georgia where he studied Biology and Entomology. He joined the Genomics Core team in September 2019.
