Dr. Kodandera's Published Works

Dr. Deepa Machiah Kodandera joined the Molecular pathology Laboratory at Yerkes National Primate Research Center in August 2011. She earned her doctorate in Biochemistry from University of Mysore, Karnataka, India and performed her postdoctorate work at the Emory Vaccine Center before joining the Molecular Pathology lab at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center.
Dr. Kodandera’s primary focus in the laboratory is to develop new diagnostic and research protocols and provide immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization services to Emory researchers. She also oversees and assists the laboratory externs performing research projects in the lab.

During her undergraduate studies at Georgia State University, Ms. Bliss worked under Dr. Sidney Crow to test the efficacy of commercially available contact lens solutions against Acanthamoeba using flow cytometry. After graduating in May of 2011 she then worked briefly at the CDC perfoming genetic quantification for the National Birth Defects Prevention Study. Currently she is assisting Dr. Prachi Sharma and Dr. Deepa Kodandera in the Molecular Pathology laboratory, Division of Pathology at Yerkes National Primate Research Center.
