Guidelines for frozen sectioning:

  1. We use standard size charged slides. To guarantee quality sectioning, number of sections per slide is completely at the discretion of the histologist. Assume it will be "1" and order accordingly.

  2. We can cut from different layers of a tissue sample and will use up the entire block in the process. These slides will be numbered sequentially according to where in the block they were cut.

  3. Please bring your blocks in a styrofoam container with dry ice that is large enough to contain the boxes of cut slides as well. If you are unable to leave this container with us for any reason bring it back at the time of collection with fresh dry ice.

  4. All slides are post fixed for 7 minutes in acetone unless otherwise requested.
