Dr. Mike Kuhar Receives Fellowship from Fulbright Senior Specialists Program

ATLANTA--Mike Kuhar, PhD, Chief of Neuroscience at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center, received a fellowship from the Fulbright Senior Specialists Program. The program sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects at overseas academic institutions for a period of two to six weeks.     

Kuhar recently returned from his two-week commission at the Center for Addiction Studies, Catholic University of Chile in Santiago. Kuhar’s lectures covered many topics including basic science discoveries that provide insight into to the disorder of drug abuse and dependence. Other topics included Kuhar’s laboratory research on CART peptides that regulate both addiction and obesity, and the development of potential medications for treating drug addiction.
